Balkan trustThe United States Agency for International Development (USAID), The German Marshal Fund (GMF) and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation announced a new initiative worth 25 million dollars for supporting the good governance in the South-eastern Europe. Balkan Trust, with a central office in Belgrade, will start operating this summer and it will be active in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro and Romania.

Fines for Roma people discriminationTwo companies from Botosani, Romania, were fined for Roma people discrimination. In fact, those were two bars that did not allow the entry of Roma citizens, and in one of them there was a notice "We do not serve Roma people".

Religious communities in Bulgaria deprived of their rightsEuropean Commission experts expressed their criticism regarding the Bulgarian Law on religious communities, the so-called Act on Confessions. The European experts state that this law "undermines the religious pluralism in Bulgaria".
