Protection and revitalization of Vodno

On 15 May this year, the ecological association "Eco-mission" organized a round table on Protection and revitalization of Vodno. It was said that it was necessary to redefine the resolution for proclaiming the Vodno Mountain a park-forest, which is quite dated (it was adopted in 1976). The preparation of the Local Environmental Action Plan (LEAP) for Skopje is in progress, within which is the protection and revitalization of Vodno.

-The Ministry of Forestry, Agriculture and Water Economy joins the initiative. We will make pest protection and the forest police will take appropriate activities, said Mr. Pejo Todevski from this Ministry.

Expert presentation were given by City of Skopje representatives, by the LEAP Project Office, the Republic of Macedonia Agency for Young and Sport, PE "Parkovi i zelenilo", PE "Makedonski Sumi", The Faculty of Forestry and ecological associations from the country. The "Eco-mission" initiative for preparation of a Strategy for protection and revitalization of the mountain Vodno is incorporated in the part of the ecological action called "Young people for a healthy environment" of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning.
