50 years of the Special School “Dimitar Vlahov”
School that Brings Light
The school for children with impaired sight “Dimitar Vlahov” is both a primary (including preparatory) and a secondary school. There are two departments: for a bookbinder-card boarder and for a telephone exchange operator. Though, the new technology imposes the need for new departments in the school. The biggest problem with the textbooks occurs when the curriculum is changed. Part of the textbooks is printed with Braille alphabet, but part not, so the teachers manage any way they can.
Sustainability of the Organization
Criteria of External Sustainability
Do you think your organization is sustainable? Do you think that, for instance, the training that you deliver to your target group will be implemented with the same intensity after several years? Do you have a clear plan how to do that? Will you have the support of the target group in the implementation of your regular activities and will they be satisfied with your services?
Women Regional Initiative
Balkan women for peace
Reconciliation, emphasizing the individual accountability (including the punishment for the guilty individuals) blaming it on whole nations who took part in the conflict and especially putting an end to the manipulations of children and planting ethnic hatred into children and young people are one of the key aspects in the work of the Balkan women in the project of the French organization “Transeuropeennes”

It’s high time that the Roma community did something for itself
There’s concern about the level of capability of the Roma civil organizations sector to carry out by itself the implementation, which is multi-sectoral and brings a big responsibility.

Stenje - A treasury of nature and culture
The new perspective is called sustainable tourism
If you have not tasted dried loach, Prespa carp or a specific kind of yellow cheese which is made at one place only, if you have not yet seen the most beautiful Prespa beach and if you feel a strong need of tranquility, clean air and a view full of heavenly beauty - the answer might be Stenje.
VIEWS
Volunteering through the Army?
Several times so far the condition of the volunteering in Macedonia has been disputed on the pages of “Civil world”. I also remember the panel discussion on the same theme on the last year NGO fair. Almost all the disputes finished with consensual agreement about the usefulness and the need of volunteering and with several suggestions for promotion and popularization of this sort of voluntary undertaking in the three sectors: public, business and civil.

Delegates and civil society associations, tet –a – tet communication
This autumn, Skopje, that is Macedonia, got its Contact Office for the civil society associations and the Macedonian Parliament located opposite the Parliament building and in the vicinity of the City Hospital, the Green Market and “Zena Borec” Park, which has been a witness of many turbulent events from the recent history of our country. There definitely could not be a better location for the Office that should provide communication between both sides of a very important social process, building a civil country.
