Human Rights - Women Rights Day
Within the 16-day media campaign for prevention of violence to women, the fourth closing tribune took place on 10 December called "10 December - Human rights-women rights day", organized by the Roma women and young association "Luludi" from Skopje.
The tribune was realized with a financial support from the Open Society Institute Foundation - Budapest, in cooperation with ESE and the Center for Crisis "Nadez" (Hope) from Skopje. Luludi and 14 other NGO from South-Eastern Europe at the International Day for Action Against Violence to Women - 25 November, started the campaign "Tradition and customs do not justify violence" the goal of which is to contribute to the awareness raising among women from the region.
"Proposals were given for changing the Law for family violence. One in every two women within the Roma population is a victim of violence, and not one in every four, as in other researches" - says "Luludi" president, Kjmet Amet.
Facilitators at the tribune were Melma Mehmeti from ESE, Todorka Petkova from "Hope" and Vlado Dimovski from the Center for Interethnic Tolerance and Refugees. The campaign included a video, poster and leaflet with the motto "Stop to Violence".
