Caritas Day: a Gesture for Peace “Ten Million Stars”…
Caritas Macedonia, in collaboration with Caritas France, has the great pleasure to invite you to the second annual event “Ten Million Stars”. It will take place in Skopje on December 19th 2003, in front of the Army Hall and around the statue of Mother Theresa, from 14:00h-17:00h.
This event, during which symbolic monuments are illuminated, has already led people to gather for peace for several years in France, and it will be organized in different countries in Europe in 2003. The objectives are to promote peace development and to gather different communities through a symbolic gesture.
The event will start officially at 14:00 with the presentation of the program. Then members of Caritas France will speak about the history of “Ten Million Stars”. The manifestation will continue with the reading of messages for peace prepared by students from the secondary school in Tetovo in the framework of the project ”We are all under the same sun”. NGO “Search for Common Ground “ will take part in the event with kindergarten children singing songs in Albanian and Macedonian, within the frame of their project “Mozaik”. After this, the band “Day Off “ will have its live performance, while the animators of Caritas France and the students from the Faculty of Sport will propose different sports and artistic activities. For example, they will draw peace symbols and write peace messages with children, young people and any person who might be interested in taking part to these activities.
The important moment of the manifestation will be the illumination of the Statue of Mother Theresa with special long lasting candles decorated by people of different age groups. During this time, the representatives of religious communities in Macedonia will give their contribution through messages for peace to all the citizens. Balloons will be sent into the sky with cards written by the children during the animation.
We hope that you will be interested in this event and that your presence will contribute to the development of peace and solidarity in Macedonia as well as all around the world.

“Give pleasure to your boss!!!”These days, a new commercial about a new coffee brand appeared on TV. I presume you’ve already seen it. A secretary slips when bringing coffee to her boss, slides down his desk on her stomach to stop in front of him with the coffee in her hand? I am not sure how you react to it, but after I had seen it for the first time I was left with my mouth open. It was a mixed feeling of bewilderment, sickness, disbelief…how could somebody think of something like that? How could nobody react to this commercial?

My attitude towards the language“People who are of the same origin and who speak the same words and who live and make friends of each other, who have the same customs and songs and entertainment are what we call a nation, and the place where that people lives is called the people's country. Thus the Macedonians also are a nation and the place which is theirs is called Macedonia.”
