World Scout Day
The scout movement through photographs
On the occasion of the World Scout Day, 22 February, and the birthday of the scout movement founder – Sir Lord Robert Baden Powel, the Macedonian Scout Union marked the 99th anniversary of the scout movement existence by organizing several activities from 17 to 22 February in Skopje. The scouts gave a scout party with a concert by bands whose members are scouts, and the youngest members of the scout units from Macedonia visited the museums in Skopje (The Museum of Macedonia, The Museum of Skopje, The Daut Pasha Amam, Saint Spas Church). In the Frosina Cinema hall, which is located at the Youth Cultural Centre, an exhibition of photographs, drawings and handicrafts presenting the scout movement was organized. The scouts also took part at the traditional night climbing on Vodno, which started at the Macedonia Square in the centre of the city.
About 300 scouts from Macedonia, as well as a number of guests from Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro took part at the World Scout Day. They stayed at their hosts’ families.
