Campaign

Eat less meat, the world will be richer

The World Food Organization  - FAO warned that the consumption of meat has increased considerably in the last 40 years - from 56 to 89 kilos per capita per year in Europe and from 89 to 124 kilos in USA. Forty years ago people in China ate only 4 kilos per year, and now that number has increased to 54.

The organization "Compassion in World Farming" from USA raised a campaign "Eat less meat", stating that the production of meat, besides the eternal ethic dilemmas, causes a considerable consumption of food - almost one third of the world production cereals is used as cattle food at the meat farms. This campaign uses as an argument the recommendations of the World Fund for Cancer Research, which points to a nutrition dominated by vegetables, as a prevention and medicine in the fight against this disease.
