THEME FOR DEBATING
Do We Need Education?
This time we invite you to ask yourselves the questions: Are we educated enough, in the context of the civic associations work? Do we have enough knowledge about managing projects, planning and other processes needed for the successful functioning of an organization? Do we need education and where do we need it most?
“Civic World” invites you to express your opinions, experience and attitudes on this interesting subject in the course of this month at the Forum open on our web sites (www.civicworld.org.mk and www.graganskisvet.org.mk ). Please enter the debate under your full name and surname! In the following issue of Civic World we will publish parts of that Internet debate and we will announce the subject for the next. For a start, we present several opinions of people active in the civic sector:
Aneta Ilievska: Of course we need education. NGOs in Macedonia need to be educated in the field of organization management, writing and preparing projects, managing projects, lobbying, financial work… Many organizations are self-educated and that can be felt in many fields in the quality of the projects they offer and their implementation. In other words, we still have a lot to learn.
Svetlana Janeva: The NGOs in Macedonia have not yet reached the influence that the organizations from Western Europe or America have in the society. I consider that we can locate the problems and find the solutions for them, but we need knowledge, not only for lobbying, but also for how can we make a bigger influence on the authorities. That is somethink to be learnt, too!
