Egypt
Discrimination and arresting the homosexuals
The Egyptian police are "successfully" applying the new method for arresting the homosexuals - via Internet they arrange meetings with them, where they are "greeted" by the police with handcuffs. A 26-year-old Lebanese, homosexual, is one of the many who had been chatting on the Internet before they met the person, who is, of course, a policeman on a secret duty. The Egyptian law does not foresee direct punishment for the homosexuals, but they are prosecuted for breaking the Muslim norms of behaviour. The international organization "Human Rights Watch" asked from the Egyptian authorities to stop the Internet "hunt" and all other kinds of prosecuting the homosexuals, and revise the verdicts.
