ESE campaign

Raising funds for supporting the legal assistance centers in Skopje, Tetovo and Stip

The Association for Emancipation, Solidarity and Equality – ESE has been actively working on providing alternative sources of finances, which should contribute to building more favorable circumstances for the organization’s sustainability in the future. Part of their intensely dynamic activities have been going on during the campaign for fighting the violence against women, which started on 20 November 2006. At the same time, the campaign for raising funds for supporting the ESE legal centers work in Skopje, Tetovo and Stip sterted. The centers offer free legal and psychosocial assistance and support, as well as free advocating in courts for the women who have been victims of family violence.

The T-Mobile telephone line 070/143-183 started operating after the agreement had been signed. It will be open for a year for anyone who wants to donate (100 denars per call). Donation boxes were also placed at the SP (Skopski Pazar) locations (SP, Maxi D and the beauty center Unique). The information have been incorporated in the design of poster and the leaflet, and MTV showed a free video in Macedonian and Albanian.

ESE prepared a letter for donations for its associates, which, besides the gratitude for the cooperation so far, functions as a call for donations. The 400 copies of the letter are in Macedonian and 100 in English.

ESE informs that starting from this year, it began using its statutory possibility, given in the act 42 of the association’s Statute, which says that the General Assembly members are to pay a 500 denars membership fee.

“The initial results show that people want to donate for those in need. ESE expresses its gratitude to all those who help in their work”, says the organization’s announcement.
