Campaign of Proaktiva

Share the car, drive your friends

The citizen association Proaktiva from Skopje started to implement the campaign “Share the car, drive your friends”, within the project “Integral approach for solving the traffic problems from sustainable aspect”, that will last until the end of August. The Regional Environment Centre (REC) through a fund provided by the Office for European aid for cooperation by the European commission supports the project.

The aim of the campaign is to inform the citizens through sharing the car with their neighbours and colleagues and creating a joint transport to certain destination, they influence the decrease of the traffic jam and the amount of exhaust fumes from the cars. Because of that, in the world this transport is numbered among the sustainable ways of transport, i.e. as a way through which the citizens can save fuel, parking lot, arrive quicker to the desired place, and, of course, to take into consideration the environment issue.

Within the project, Proaktiva will work on informing the citizens for its benefits, after which it would be necessary to open those kind of services (private companies or public enterprises) that in an organized way, fulfilling a certain line of standards, will provide cars in any time.

Proaktiva will lobby at the responsible institutions for introducing a line of legal and under-legal measures that will deal with this kind of transport. To make it more popular, the responsible institutions would have to provide that at least the cars that belong to these services would always have parking lot.
