International Victims of War Day
4 June is celebrated in the world as a day when we recall and pay tribute to the victims of wars. In the world today, when there are maybe most wars in the history of the mankind, apart from the period of the two World Wars, the world more than ever needs such a day, but also actions and campaigns for prevention of the military conflicts.
World Environmental Day
The global day dedicated to the protection of our mutual home - the planet Earth, should remind us of its natural values and beauties, but also of their vulnerability. The civic associations and many other subjects, such as the governments, the international organizations and nowadays the business subjects as well, remind that the global environmental system depend on every human activity, even the smallest one.
Oceans - the navel of the world
8 June is dedicated to the oceans which are one of the most important generators of the global climate and indicators and conditioning factors of the global eco-condition of the planet. The oceans are called the "navel of the world" since most of the world population depends on them. Eventually, the ecological balance of these huge systems influences the survival of the whole humankind.
Fight against drought and floods
The day that the UN declared the international date for actions against droughts and floods has a goal to remind of the negative effects in the human communities that condition the occurrence of the natural disasters causing droughts, huge waves as well as more rapid spread of deserts.
On June 29 in Vienna, Austria, the Danube Day will be established. Part of the manifestation that will be attended by representatives from the countries in the Danube region, will be lectures, exhibitions and other activities dedicated to the river and the people it unites.
