Meeting with the Macedonian minority in Bulgaria

During the third round implemented by ECRI (European Commission Against Racism and Intolerance) at the time of its visit to Bulgaria, it asked for a meeting with the Macedonian minority representatives.

ECRI representatives had meetings with the Macedonian organizations from the region of Pirin - OMO Ilinden - Pirin, OMO Ilinden and the Association of Islam Macedonians. They told the Commission that official Bulgaria refuses to recognize the right to Macedonians as well as the other ethnic minorities in this country, to acquire a minority status, which includes their own ethnicity, language, culture and religion.
