MUSIC-THERAPEUTIC PROJECTS FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

“Dzundzule” for Happier Childhood

“It is nice when we are together” was the motto of the project “Music-therapy of the children with special needs”. After that there is a new project: “Music-therapy – what is that?”. These two projects are part of the activities of the Center for children’s artistic expression, music-therapy and psychophysical relaxation “Dzundzule”, presented in the hotel Panorama in Skopje, on 20th June, this year.

The main objective of the finished project, which lasted nine months, since September last year until June, this year, was the affirmation of the children’s artistic expression and music-therapy of the children with special needs. The latest project, “Music-therapy – what is it?”, will have an objective to carry out a strong propaganda and affirmation of this kind of work with children with special needs. 2,500 brochures have been printed for this purpose, 1,500 of them in Macedonian, 500 in Albanian and 500 in Turkish. The brochures are going to be distributed for free in the schools throughout Macedonia, and will be available for free to everyone interested in them. Their issuing was financially supported by the foundation “Blagovestie”.

“The most important of all is that with our projects we give our own contribution to the children with special needs – articulation improvement, self-confidence and discipline building, motor coordination improvement, doing body and rhythmical movements, initiating the esthetic in them...The music and dance for these children are simply feelings valve”, - were some of the words by Tomislav Tanevski, music-therapist, general secretary of “Dzundzule”.

In spite of the fact that the Center for children’s artistic expression, music-therapy and psychophysical relaxation “Dzundzule” has been existing for only one year, it has already become a member of the Music-therapy World Federation.
