The European Commission Culture 2000
Since 1992, since it became part of the European Unions Agreement, the cooperation in the field of culture has become a new kind of competence of the communities” – this is how the context of culture was described within the European Commission’s programmes, which have been carried out through the programme “Culture 2002”. This programme aims to encourage and support the creativity and the mobility of the artists and the cultural workers, as well to realize better approach to the public in this area. Therefore, the programme’s goal is to spread the culture, art and heritage, realize intercultural dialogue and introduce the people in Europe with the cultures of all European nations. However, the general goal of this programme is to create mutual cultural sphere through which people will unite and cherish the nationality and the regional diversity.
