4 June: In memory of the war victims
The international memorial day of the war victims should remind us of all the factors for starting and leading wars, as well as a day when the general public expresses its protest against the military actions and strives for peace in the world.
5 June: World Environment Day
The world day dedicated to the environment – 5 June is usually marked with protests and festivals. The nature is celebrated, as well as the environment that surrounds us and appeals are sent for its protection from pollution and destruction. The motto is well known: Think globally, act locally!
8 June: Oceans – the cradle of life
This day, 8 June, id dedicated to the oceans and their protection. They are the cradles of the human kind and of all living organisms on this planet, and today, millions of people live on their coasts or gravitate towards them. Our survival depends on the health of the great water.
10 June: “Living Heritage” Fair
The Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonia, within its programme “Living Heritage” is going to organize the second “Living Heritage” Fair. On 10 June in Macedonia Street, in the open air, the projects and the artisans supported by this programme will present themselves.
17 June: Protection from floods and droughts
This day was declared by the UN as an International Day for fight against floods and droughts natural disasters which strike the world more and more often. However, they are largely caused by the humans with their uncontrolled activities that pollute the environment and change the global climate
20 June: Protection of refugees
The day dedicated to the refugees is marked in the whole world, under the UN patronage. The goal is to help people and offer protection to those who leave their homes, running away from the wars, the violence, the natural disasters and other problems. T is a day when we should show our solidarity and humanity.
