The European House marked the European Day
The project "Europe at School 2004 promoted
On the occasion of the European Day - 9 May, a day before at the high school "Josip Broz - Tito", the "European House - Skopje promoted the international project called "Europe at School", which deals with implementing competitions in European knowledge at the Macedonian high schools.
It is a project on annual basis, dedicated to the teachers and students from all schools and of all age groups that can be easily integrated in the everyday practice of the European education.
"Europe at School" is a pedagogic activity that has been widely and officially recognized and mentioned in various resolutions and recommendations of the European institutions, as well as in the official documents published by national educational authorities, and it is under joint patronage of the European Council, the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Cultural Foundation in Amsterdam.
The European competition has been taking place on regular basis for fifty years. It has been organized in 34 European countries. It enables the young people to show their ideas and opinion regarding the European dream, and the seminars that take place throughout Europe enable them to socialize with students of their age and share the knowledge and experiences.
The awards for literature and art on "Understanding Europe through culture and sport" were given at the promotion to students from 10 high schools in Skopje.
The project "Europe at School" that is supposed to grow into an annual competition taking place in all primary and high schools, has been realized in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science, the Bureau for Educational Development, the Agency for Young and Sports of the Balkan Foundation for Children and Young People, the Sector for European Integration of the Macedonian Government, the Macedonian Committee of the European Youth Parliament and the Union of Art Pedagogues of Macedonia, joined in the Macedonian National Committee of Europe at School.
