"The implementation of concrete measures of the policy for reduction of poverty and unemployment by the state institutions, can and needs to be coordinated and in cooperation with the civic associations. They, as initiatives by the Macedonian citizens, can give directions for targeting certain measures of the short and long-term economic policies. The civic associations work can help to improve the living standard and the citizens' working status in many ways".

The fight against poverty stays the main care of the non-governmental organizations, especially to the humanitarian ones. The unemployment, the level of education, the inadequate health and social care, are important elements that lead to poverty.

As promoters of the poor people's voice, the humanitarian organizations are the only actors that seriously approach the problem of overcoming this phenomenon that slows down the development of the country. Taking into account the fact that the non-governmental organizations permanently work with the category of poor citizens in various segments of their action, it is necessary to cooperate with them for facing this problem. Humanitarian organizations have a closer contact with the poor, and they can, definitely offer more adequate solutions for giving services to this category and identify their most significant problems, since they realize more contacts and are more often present in their homes. In this context, I would say that we have to follow the experience of the NGO sector from Europe, which has overcome the process of transition. The only hope for eliminating many human tragedies is the partnership of the NGO sector with the government institutions. The huge financial and other possibilities of the state institutions on one hand, and the great possibilities of the NGO sector to initiate and promote activities with the poor people on the other hand, present a symbiosis, which can contribute to reducing the poverty to a great extent.
