Religious education at the state schools

The tribune called “Introducing religious education at the state schools” took place on 14 March 2007. The results of two researches, financed by the Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonia were presented at the tribune.

The research called “The public opinion on religious education” was done by the Institute for Sociological and Political-Legal Researches from Skopje, while the research called “The presence of religious contents in some social-humanist subjects at primary and secondary schools” was implemented by the Humanist Studies Department at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje. The guest from Ljubljana, Dr. Zdenko Kodelja from the Institute for Educational Researches from Ljubljana gave an interesting presentation on “Religious education in various national educational systems – a comparative study”.

These researches are the first step towards formulating public policies on such a broad and complex issue like the religious education.
