Campaign of the Red Cross of the City of Skopje

Humanitarian action for improvement of the conditions in the old people’s homes

In the period between 19 November until 19 December this year, the Skopje Red Cross in cooperation with Cosmofon realized a big humanitarian action “We are all their children”, aimed at improvement of the conditions in the old people’s homes “Majka Tereza” in Zlokukani, “Zafir Sajto” in Kumanovo, “Kiro Krstevski – Platnik” in Prilep and “Sue Rider” in Bitola. This action is continuation of the 2005 action, whose face was tragically lost Tose Proeski and in which about 15.000 Euros were collected. The Red Cross will open a bank account and Cosmofon will open a special number for donation. Apart from the possibility to donate 50 denars by SMS or by calling the number 075-140-100, citizens can give the same amount if they buy a voucher of voluntary sum and pay it on a special gyro account of the Red Cross. It is a novelty that this year at the Red Cross stands mugs will be sold with the campaign logo by a price of 150 denars. On 1 December a humanitarian event was held at the City Square in Skopje. In the course of the action the song and the video “We are all their children” from 2005 will be used, in which, besides Tose, a few other music stars took part.

“In the homes live people who mostly lack a good word and little attention. In the past period we had a chance to visit these institutions, talk to the people who live there about their life, to hear what is necessary for them and how we can help. You will not believe, what they miss are such small things which can make life beautiful and honest. I believe that we will get big support by the citizens and will all together dedicate New Year and Christmas holidays, that is days of donating, to the oldest” – says the secretary of the Red Cross of the City of Skopje, Suzana Tuneva-Paunovska. From the Red Cross of Skopje they say they dedicate the campaign to the early lost Tose Proeski, who was the face of the campaign in 2005.
