Journalists for women and children rights and protection of the environment of Macedonia

Making the question of small and light weapons more sensible

Training for 120 listeners in four towns in Macedonia

On 6 November this year in Skopje, Journalists for women and children rights and protection of the environment of Macedonia, supported by the MCIC, held the first of the six workshops on "Making the question of small and light weapons more sensible". Participants of this and the following workshops that will take place in Strumica, Oteshevo and Gostivar are journalists from the local media, as well as representatives of the local commissions involved in the process of volunteer disarming. The training has been foreseen for 120 listeners, for whom a handbook will be providing, containing information regarding the need for disarming, as part of the "Seged" process and information from the National Programme for Volunteer Disarming. The NPZDZZS is to introduce the journalists to this very sensitive subject, so that they know how to further elaborate it in the media they work for. The lecturers at the first workshop were: the spokesman of the Operational Centre for realization of the volunteer disarming action, Mohamed Hodza, the A1 TV journalist Snezana Lupevska and Natasha Dokovska, trainer for sensibilization of the question of small and light weapons.
