“Vila Zora” warns

The smeltery can pollute Veles again

After the information announced in the public for the potential selling of the melting factory in Veles and restarting its work, the environmental association “Vila Zora” from Veles sent a warning regarding the possible pollution, emphasizing that they expect the government start revitalizing the environment, improving the living conditions, dislocate the ????? from the immediate vicinity of the city and help the chronically ill people who caught their diseases as a result of the pollution they had been facing for years.

The members of the environmental association see the proposal for selling the smeltery to a foreign partner via direct agreement as a dangerous, unserious and irresponsible act and point to the existence of fear and revolt among the Veles citizens regarding the potential pollution. They say at “Vila Zora” that the corresponding Ministry and the Government should respect the right of living in a clean and healthy environment, and if anybody violates it, they announce that they will seek help from the International Human Rights Court in Strasburg.
