Campaign in Strumica

Collecting and recycling plastic

A campaign for reducing the use of plastic in everyday life and for continuous collecting and recycling plastic waste is realized in the region of Strumica with financial support from the Institute for Sustainable Communities and the American environmental association USAIP. The project is realized by the environmental association “Planetum” from Strumica. Besides the practical elements for organized collection and recycling of the waste, the programme includes educational contents whose goal is to influence the changing of people’s habits and their awareness for reducing the use of plastic and to replace it with paper and other products that do not harm the environment and the eco-balance of our planet. The continual realization of this project will contribute to change the ugly pictures that can be seen in the settlements, markets, yards, along the riverbeds, paths and fields. The economic effects from collecting and recycling the waste plastic, as well as the environmental contributions of protecting the nature will bring long-term results and benefit for us and the future generations, state at the environmental association “Planetum”, calling for a civilized behaviour towards nature from all citizens in the region of Strumica and wider.
