Evaluation of public procurement in the Czech Republic
Public Procurement System, according to the researches by the World Bank, is mostly subject to corruption. Transparency International – Czech Republic (TIC) in December 2004 started a project focused on public procurement in the Czech Republic. TIC’s long-term objective is this project to contribute to more transparent procedures and to minimize opportunities for corruptive practices in the process of public procurement.

Tax treatment of the withheld profit tax
According to Article 29-a of the Profit Tax Law, unless otherwise regulated in the international agreements for avoidance of double taxation, entities who pay income to a foreign legal entity shall be obliged to withhold tax at payment of the income and shall pay the tax withheld to a respective suspense account simultaneously with the payment of the income.

85 years of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia
The Economic Chamber of Macedonia celebrated 85 years of its establishing and active work. The Chamber, which is the oldest as the most numerous business-sector association in our country, marked its jubilee under the name “Tradition, Power, Quantity and a formal meeting for over 2 000 businessman and their numerous partners and guests, among which the highest rank state representatives.

A novelty in Macedonia
The first domestic bio-diesel is produced in Makedonska Kamenica
The Association of People with Disabilities “Zvezda” from Makedonska Kamenica has been the only producer of bio-diesel in Macedonia for several years now. The production is still in its experimental phase and it is part of the project “Sustainable production of bio-diesel from a waste cooking oil”, financed by GEF. The fuel goes to the Association of Women-Farmers “Agro-Vinka”. The overall technology for producing the bio-fuel is owned by Blagoj Mihailovski, president of “Zvezda”, who, together with his brother, became interested in producing fuel from various oils as early as in his high-school days.

Donations help the children without parents later in their individual life
The association of children without parents from the orphanages in the Republic of Macedonia “Idnina” from Skopje, in cooperation with “T- Mobile”, organized a humanitarian action for helping the children without parents when they leave the orphanages and start their individual life. Money, clothes and house ware is being collected that will help the mature proteges step into the real life after leaving the collective homes when turning 18. About ten children leave the collective homes a year on average.
