10-year jubilee celebrated

On 8 December 2003, the Macedonian Theatre Youth celebrated a decade of its working. The ten-year jubilee was marked at the Macedonian National Theatre - Theatre Centre. At the celebration, the president of the Macedonian Theatre Youth, Nelko Nelkovski, awarded the recognition "Petre Prlicko" to individuals and organizations for a long-term contribution and support to the work of the organization.

The recognitions were awarded: posthumously, to the great Macedonian actor Petre Prlicko", the actress and theatre pedagogue Afrodita Kirjakovska, the UNICEF office in Skopje, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Macedonia, the Youth Cultural Centre from Skopje and the Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonia.

At this celebration, the Macedonian Theatre Youth promoted a campaign for social mobilization against HIV/AIDS through the theatre and the project "I have a right to know". The premiers of the plays "Bestial" and "Hypochondria"' directed and performed by the MTY Youth were part of the campaign. These theatre projects are supported by UNICEF and SIDA.
