INFORMATION CENTER IN KRIVA PALANKA  

Education and legal advice for the women in transition

On 14, December, last year, Mr. Jose Manuel Pinto Tesheira, Chief of the European Commission Delegation in the Republic of Macedonia, visited Kriva Palanka. On this occasion, the Information center for education and legal advice for the women in transition, a project financed by the European Union, was solemnly open.

This project is realized by the Organization of Women from Kriva Palanka and is financed by a European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights grant, the technical aspect of which is coordinated by the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation. The project is limited to six months, its total value was estimated to be 13, 450 Euro, and the Organization of Women from Kriva Palanka has provided its own participation of 2,460 Euro.

During his stay, Mr. Tesheira visited the Daily sojourn of people with limited abilities in this town, which is one of the kind in the country. This project is also financed by the European Union Humanitarian Office, and works as a department of the Inter-municipal Center for Social Works –Kriva Palanka.

On 17 January this year, within the project “Information Center for Education and Legal Advice for the Women in Transition”, a tribune on “Women participation in the decision-making positions in politics and in public life in general” was organized. This issue was promoted by MA Liljana Popovska, who coordinates the women lobby in the Republic of Macedonia. She talked about the women rights in the civic society, women participation in politics and their appeal to fight for the decision-making positions in politics and in public life in general due to the principle of justice, equal treatment, greater offer of ideas and solutions, exploiting the overall human potential and harmonizing the society in general.
