The mirrors and the EU

The "Ode of Joy" - the anthem of the continent whose family increases in size in the new century, could be heard in the City Park in Skopje on the European Day - May 9th . The old EU inhabitants, as well as the newcomers will be developing the sense of togetherness in the process of building a new and extended community. And we, the citizens, standing in line and waiting to be accepted in the EU will slowly demystify and learn the rules for building paths to reach the goal through the woods full of remains of the old system. Our step will be slow since the mirrors we look our real selves in are beginning to multiply.

On the road to our goal - the EU, the civil society organizations, too, will have to look themselves in their mirrors and develop their self-criticism to the extent that does not disturb the way, but also enable them to recognize the signs in through the wood better. Some of them do not want to wipe the steamy, old mirrors, while others are buying new ones which show them together with the state (government) institutions. The mutual glance in the mutual mirror is our final goal, or the penultimate stop before we enter the EU.

On this road too (one of the many roads we had to walk slowly and hard in the past few years), the common visions are far the best and the farthest-reaching. The new experience will be built upon new partnerships, coalitions and new mutual ideas. The spring bears certain changes itself. However, it is necessary to recognize them well.
