European Agency for Reconstruction and Development

Donor in every field

One of the biggest donors in the Republic of Macedonia id the European Agency for Reconstruction and Development. This EU agency has donated in almost every field. For example, a million euro assistance for the veterinary services, financing projects for interethnic reconciliation in the country, hundreds of million euros for reconstruction of the houses destroyed in the military conflict in Macedonia in 2001, etc. One of the agency’s most important projects is the donation for equipping a number of specialized high schools all over Macedonia.

Several thousand students and daily newspaper readers were in the focus of five projects financed by the European Union through the European Agency for Reconstruction and Development, in order to promote the interethnic reconciliation in the country. The projects for which three million euros were provided, contributed a lot in strengthening the civil society in Macedonia.

With financial help from the European Agency, 800 houses in Aracinovo, Tetovo and Kumanovo have been reconstructed. For the reconstruction of these regions, affected by the conflict in 2001, the European Agency provided 25 million euros.

The European Agency for Reconstruction has also given its immense contribution

in the field of education, that is for promoting the Macedonian education. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education, this agency equipped the specialized schools which lacked the appropriate tools. In Sveti Nikole, it donated agricultural mechanization for the specialized high school in agriculture. In Skopje, a number of schools received big donations. Schools were equipped in Kocani, Kumanovo and many other regions.

The European Agency for Reconstruction has given an irreversible 1,4 million euro grant to the Veterinary …. For improving the veterinary services in the country. With the money from the European Union, the Veterinary Administration bought 20 vehicles for the veterinary field inspections and computers at almost every border crossing.
