Together for one

We entered the new year and instead of making our wishes come true, a big catastrophe happened. The Tsunami took many human lives. Although the sorrow was everywhere, the people showed the best in them. The world started collecting help for the victims

“Together for one” was the motto of the last year’s NGO Fair- Fourth Forum of the Civil Society in Macedonia which took place in December, and which associated me to the action Days of Solidarity that took place in our country for the victims of the Tsunami in Southeast Asia. Macedonia and its citizens have once again shown their solidarity. Skopje had gone through the catastrophe that happened in Asia in 1963. Then, the world showed solidarity for Skopje. Now was the turn of the Macedonian citizens to show they can do something for the others. Everybody helped, as much as they could.

These actions should not be organized only at such occasions. We should all together do something about the problems in our country and try to solve them together. We see them, but we do not show enough determination to mobilize ourselves and alleviate them as much as possible. In Macedonia there are a number of cases where people lack drinking water, cases where groups that live on the margins should be incorporated in the everyday life. Can’t we do something for better tomorrow of the others?

I believe that the Macedonian people are willing to show humanity. Mother Theresa was born here and she dedicated her life to help the weak. Today, we have to follow her example as a guide in making good deeds.
