Peace Unlimited Festival
The sound of the city without guns
The sixth edition of the Peace Unlimited Festival was open on 25 October with the Sethstat’s performance. The organizer, i.e. the NGO Civil decided this year’s motto to be “The sound of the city without guns” – a slogan that unites both the music and the cultural festival events, among which the “Arhangel” concert on 29 October at the Skopje Fair. Three workshops for interactive teaching and learning were held as part of the festival: literature, artistic and drawing one, united with the title “Art against Arms”, participants of which were the third and the fourth year highs schools student from “Rade Jovcevski-Korcagin”, Zdravko Cvetkovski, Zef Ljus Marku” and “Arsenija Jovkov”. The results from the workshops will be presented on Sunday – the closing day of the manifestation.
The bands that performed in the period between 25 and 30 October were: Pogan Pagan, Deni Te Chuva, Two Sides, D.N.O., Foltin, etc, and “Parketi” used the opportunity to have a concert promotion of their new album “The secret of the name”. This year, the festival followed several manifestations, like: Global Week for Fight against Arms that took place in June, “The International Peace Day” on 21 September and “The Peace Month” that Civil and Caritas France promoted in several towns in the country. The festival was financially supported by Caritas France, the Open Society Institute – Macedonia Foundation, Saferworld and others.
