Lake Ohrid Conservation
On 10 May in Ohrid, organized by the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe’s Office in Macedonia, the closing manifestation of the Lake Ohrid Conservation Project took place.
This project has been realized since 1999 in cooperation between the Macedonian and the Albanian Governments and it receives financial support from the World Bank through GEF – Global Environmental Fund.
All these people talked at the manifestation: the minister of environment and spatial planning, Mr. Vladimir Dzabirski, the REC office in Macedonia director, Mrs. Katerina Stojkovska, the director of the project implementation unit, Mr. Dejan Panovski, the project components coordinators Mrs. Anita Kodzoman, Mr. Trajce Naumovski, Mr. Oliver Avramovski and Mr. Igor Slavkovski.
The project brochure and the environmental NGOs’ from the region of Ohrid and Struga Address book were also presented at the manifestation. An NGO Fair of the organizations from the region and a visit to the springs near Vevcani, which are protected as a natural rarity, were also organized. In Vevcani the guests were introduced to the traditional customs of that region.
