"Mesecina" celebrated with the young Romas from Debar

Roma Day celebrated 

The Roma humanitarian and charity organization "Mesecina" from Gostivar, branch - Debar, on 4 April this year, implemented activities for marking the International Roma Day, 8 April. The central manifestation took place at the Primary School "Bratstvo i Edinstvo" in Debar and was attended by the parents and the 57 Roma pupils from the school. Two theatre plays were performed by the Roma pupils called "Democracy - what is that?" (in Macedonian and Albanian) and "Hygiene". Children from various grades as well as pre-school children performed recitals and poetry.

The quiz "We know and learn as the other non-Roma children" was also realized as part of the programme, the folk group performed several folk dances with Roma costumes and customs, and an art exhibition was also opened. The realization of the activities on the occasion of the International Roma Day was supported by the programme "Applied education of young Romas" of the Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation.
