We build bridges over borders

In October this year, at the international competition "Stockholm Challenge", with the project called "We are building bridges over borders by using computer and communication technique and project oriented learning", the civic association "International Network for Education and Resources" - IMOR from Bitola entered among the 20 finalist in the competition of 600 projects from 78 countries from all over the world.

"Stockholm Challenge" is a prestigious international programme that attracts users of computer and communication technique from all over the world and awards the best projects that practice information technology.

This project competed in the sphere of education, which was one of the six categories: "e-government", health, culture, education, "e-business" and environment.

The goal of this project is to establish a network of young people from Macedonia and Albania that will work in the field of improving the mutual communication. The project was supported by the "InfoYouth" UNESCO Programme and the National UNESCO Commission in Macedonia. IMOR's partner is the technical school "Hurry T. Fultz" from Tirana, Albania.

The project covered trainings for "on-line" work and communication ethics and the subjects arranged for cooperation are "Communication technologies" and "Subjects of Young People". This project improved the pupils' ability for cooperation, encouraged their social responsibility, trained them to understand better the modern information society, raised the multicultural awareness and built new bridges of cooperation between young people from both countries.
