8 November: Urban Areas Day
Eighth of November was declared a day of the urban areas. On this date people remind themselves that their settlements and towns should develop in accordance with the surrounding environment, but also in accordance with the capacity of each urban system separately. In this respect, it is also necessary to apply the principle of sustainable development and not cross the nature's endurance threshold.
9 November: Against fascism and anti-Semitism
The day dedicated to the fight against fascism and anti-Semitism is a day when we should once again ward that these two threats of the free world are still present in today's world. The fight against fascism and anti-Semitism should be understood wide action of the governments and the non-governmental sector as well as international cooperation.
14 November: World Science Day
The knowledge is power, and the day dedicated to the science primarily focuses on the young people who are encouraged to spread and deepen the knowledge. At the same time, the messages from this day warn that the knowledge and the scientific benefits are only justified if they are used for preserving the peace and prosperity of all people in this world.
18 November: Forum on multiculturalism
On 18 November in Skopje, the Foundation Open Society Institute - Macedonia is organizing a one-day forum on "Multiculturalism in Macedonia - a model in creation". The problems and the challenges of the multicultural society in Macedonia, as well as the multicultural tradition of other countries in the world are the subjects to be discussed at the forum.
18 and 19 November: A Summit of Electronic Journalism
On 18 and 19 November 2004 the world's biggest Summit of the electronic media will take place in Villamura, Portugal. The Summit called "News Exchange" will be attended by 500 professional from Europe. The event is organized by the European Broadcast Union.
25 November: Campaign against violence over women
This day is dedicated to the international actions against violence over women. At the same time it will mark the beginning of the 6-month campaign that is traditionally carried out in several countries and is dedicated to the fight against the family violence, women trafficking and any other kind of violence over women.
21 November: Buy Nothing Day
On 27 November we will have to refrain from buying anything. The goal of the international "Buy Nothing Day" is to reduce the shopping euphoria and to remind of the ecological principles which call for reduced creation of waste, re-using the products and recycling as an option.
