(Lack of) Trust
Apart from the protests and blockages, the civil initiatives, spring actions and the dissatisfaction, this month was marked with another research which warns us in time (UNDP report on in-time warning is a result of the regular, quarterly researches).
The dignity of 8th March in the present days
Moving from kitsch-parade towards constructive dialogue
During a TV questionnaire on the streets of Skopje, some of the asked citizens of Skopje, at different age and sex, asked what 8th March was for them, answered the following: “Street stalls”, “An opportunity to celebrate the day in a good restaurant”, or “I will buy my mother and teacher some flowers”, as a Skopje pupil answered.
7 March – Teacher’s Day
The civil society organizations support the education
For several year now, the Albanians in Macedonia celebrate 7 March – The Teacher’s Day. On this day by the end of the XIX century, the first school in Albanian was opened. On that occasion, in the beginning of the school year, several civil society organizations symbolically collect school materials for the pupils facing financial difficulties. In general, the condition with education in Macedonia is rather bad, regardless of the language used for its realization.

Raising the ICT level
The information technologies development foundation has announced an advert in the media for 50 visitors to take part in the project called “An information and communication step forward towards the world standards”, providing an 80% donated computer education for student graduates in the last year of their studies with an average mark of 8 and above and for graduated unemployed (for up to two yeas) people with an average mark of 8 and above.
Jubilees
A decade of Dnevnik and BBC in Macedonian
“Dnevnik”, the first independent daily newspaper, set up by a group of young journalists from Macedonia, celebrated the first decade of its work on 20 March with a celebration and theatre show. The money from the tickets will be donated in humanitarian goals. Among the figures and facts which marked the ten-year anniversary of the paper are the 120 million sold copies, that is 3, 016 issues.
Source (IZVoR) of humanism, tolerance and social welfare
Volunteers
After six months of collecting data and processing the results, the Working Group of the Initiative for Legal Regulation of the volunteers’ status in Serbia – the IZVoR Initiative prepared the brochure which states the results of the workshops where volunteers from different organizations had taken place, as well as the results obtained on the basis of the processed questionnaires filled in by NGO representatives from the whole country.
Interview: Lina Kostarova – Unkovska, director of the Center for Psychosocial and Crisis Action
Communication among the children is the basis for the development
Within the project “School networks – communities for multicultural development”, the Center for Psychosocial and Crisis Action has recently realized a few creative workshops in the Multimedia Center “Mala Stanica” under common title “Freedom of communication FOR…”. What is the purpose of such kind of work and the project in general and what are the results?

Vox populi, vox Dei!
The popularity of this phrase is evident even today. All of us as individuals are actors in the wider community we call society. And, of course, regardless of our background, education, actions or beliefs, we share the same ideal – building a healthy society. More precisely, a society based upon the everyday dialectics between the ideas and actions, emitted by all of us, for the sole purpose of making things BETTER.
How to get to successful “multi-culti” activities?
Honest goals
Through a series of articles I would like to elaborate the principles that need to be taken into consideration while working with the noble values of peace, especially in Macedonia and the region. This text is a result of my experience while working on the topics: peace, tolerance and non-violence. As a result of this, they probably have certain subjectivism since I am also part of the story and I am telling it as I see it.
