Seven years of Mother Theresa's death commemorated in Skopje
Boris Trajkovski and MCIC - winners of the "Mother Theresa Epistle"
On 5 September this year, the association "Skopjankata Majka Teresa" organized a celebration on the occasion of seven years of Gonca Bojadziu's death, where the Mayor of Skopje, Risto Penov presented the acknowledgement "Mother Theresa Epistle".
This year they were awarded to the president Boris Trajkovski (posthumously), to Age Bojadziu and to the Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation (MCIC) for the numerous humanitarian activities. Small statues with the face of the great women were given to Miftar Miftari, Mitko Tosev, Skender Kuli, Galaba Zareska and the Old People's Home "Mother Theresa" by the Minister of Education and Science, Azis Polozani.
The citizen of the world, Mother Theresa, was born on 26 August1910 in Skopje. On 26 September 1928 she left her hometown to dedicate herself to the humanity, to the sick and the helpless. The world admired mother Theresa and her dedication and sacrifice for the sick, the hungry, the abandoned and the lonely. The acknowledgement for this mother, the Nobel Prize for Peace, came in 1979. She died on 5 September 1997 in Calcutta, India. The Pope, John Paul the Second, beatified her on 19 October 2003, which is a step before becoming a saint.
