Viktorio Jakovleski

I’d like to fly, but I can’t

Professional experience: I have spent all my working and part-time work years mainly in the media or around them. I have spent 15 years on it. In the beginning with great enthusiasm and now with eyes wide open. At the moment I am being engaged in the Macedonian Journalists’ Association.

Engagement in the civil sector: My engagement in the civil sector is also related to the media or writing. I have formed or revived a few magazines on civil society organizations.

Hobbies and interests: To bring in nature where I am. If I can’t live in a forest, I have plants around me, if I can’t listen to birds in the urban Skopje jungle, I have birds in my flat...I take active part in sport events only with the remote control in my hand, only if “ours” play!

Toughest decision: It’s always hard for me to decide to change something at once, if it has been practiced for a long time, for example, the job. I don’t have any problems doing it, but I always “feel sick”.

Ambitions: To make the world better and more beautiful. But I can’t manage to do it, it’s difficult.

In his free time he reads: I read whenever I can. I mostly read within the competition on reading books with my wife during our holidays. Then we really read a lot.

Where does he go in his free time?  What is free time? Joakim and Grigor take care of that, so as they say...

At weekends: If possible, I love staying in my pajamas, if not, what necessary…possibly visiting or having guests.

Which national/local problem does he find especially important and why? Inclination to destruction and non-cooperation. I don’t know who has invented the saying: “The grass is always greener on the other side” but we are like that! Everyone, both politicians and we, “the ordinary ones”.

Which global problem does he find especially important and why? Global warming seemed to be far from us, but now we are surprised that it is warm in winter and having snow in summer and we still do not understand why it is like that…

What would he change in Macedonia and the world? People’s bad habits, but it’s impossible, isn’t it? So first I’ll try with myself…

Advice / message: I advise the abovementioned every day, but they don’t listen to me...I have put the message on a notice board, so anyone who wants to read it, can do it.

I could never: Fly, but I’d like to…
