Exhibition

44th National exhibition of photographs

The art photography is one of the most subtle means of expressing the contemporary visual arts. Freezing a moment of life does don only help paint the everyday existence, but also the talent, the experience and the power of perception of the photographer who created that image. In its essence, the photography is a stolen part of eternity and turned into art. As such, the exhibitions of photographs are part of an eternity transferred into our everyday existence. An opportunity of that kind was offered to us by the 44th annual exhibition of photographs, displayed at the Cifte Amam at the National Gallery in Skopje.

The organizers of the exhibition were the photo-club Elema and the Macedonia Photography Federation. Of the 290 received photographs taken by 45 authors, they selected 101 photographs. The annual photo exhibition is an intersection of the photography art works, but also a possibility to emphasize and award the best photographic works in Macedonia.

The commission, consisting of Rade Lukovikj – the president and Dejan Gilevski and Stojan Gjorgjiev – members, made this years selection of awarded authors. The first prize for the best photo collection went to Valentin Risteski; the second award went to Zoran Andonov from the photography club FKK Tetovo; and the third prize was awarded to Cvetan Gavrovski from the photography club Elema.

Certificates for their collections were awarded to Katarina Ristovska and Darko Petrovski from Elema and to Davor Spasovski from FKK Tetovo. The awards for single photographs went to Maja Argakieva from Elema – first prize, Samir Ljuma from FKK Tetovo – second prize and Vladimir Sekulovski from Elema – third prize. Certificates for singe photographs were also awarded to Martin Trajkovski (individual author), Marjan Janevski (Elema) and Dusan Docevski (FKK Kozjak).
