POLIO PLUS IN FRONT OF THE FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE AND MNT

Street theatre – “What is the sense of life?”

The non-governmental organization Polio Plus – postpolio group for support and activation of people with special needs continues its campaign for overcoming the architectonic barriers. On this occasion, on 10 May in the series of street shows which take place under the motto “What is the sense of life”, Polio Plus found themselves in front of the Faculty of Architecture building, another inaccessible building for people with special needs and in front of the Macedonian National Theatre – MNT.

The professor Gjorge Marjanovik from the Faculty of Law spoke in front of the people present about the inaccessibility to the public buildings in Macedonia and emphasized the anomalies existing in this segment of the society and which refer to the laws and the right for equality for all citizens in Macedonia including the people with special needs.

The street theatre continued in front of the MNT where a voluntary brigade of high school and university students of defectology “built” a slanting ramp and made the MNT and the Commercial Bank buildings accessible.

“What is the sense of life”, through the street shows tries to make the society aware of the special needs of that group of people and rights of equality and to take concrete steps and actions in relation to it.
