Living Heritage Program

Eight more projects supported

Within the NGO Fair, on 30 November at the “Alexander Palace Hotel”, the grants were signed between Mr. Vladimir Milcin, executive director of the Open Society Institute Macedonia Foundation, and the grant winners from the Living Heritage program that OSIMF Macedonia implements in Macedonia together with the Belgian Foundation King Boduen.

This is the second cycle of support to projects from this program, which has been implemented in Macedonia since 2000. Grants were awarded for 8 projects that are going to be implemented in Rostuse, Bituse, Krivogastani, Vevcani, Novo Selo (Strumica), Vrapciste, Kratovo, Velesta, Delogozda and Varos near Prilep.

These projects refer to the reanimation of some traditional crafts or skills, maintaining and affirmation of the folk heritage, creation of new contents in the social living through promotion or restoration of the natural heritage, etc.

The goal of these projects, as well as to the program itself is to make use of the cultural, traditional and natural heritage and incorporate them into the sustainable development of the community.

The program supports project that are realized in smaller communities where partners can be non-governmental organizations, local government or other organizations or institutions. These projects will be realized within a year.
