Implementation of the project ‘Through Women’s Perspective’ has continued
Women’s rights in context of labor and workers’ rights
In the organization of the Performing Art Center Multimedia, by organizing two debates, in Veles on November 23rd, dedicated to the connection between female reproduction and sexual rights with labor and workers’ relations, the implementation of the project “Through Women’s Perspective” continued. In its basis the project carries the idea for gender equality and addressing social issues, and the debate’s goal was to initiate a dialogue among feminists, creators of development plans and policies, activists from the civic sector and intellectuals in addressing the connection and complexness of the issue of women and their reproductive and sexual rights, in context of labor and workers’ rights. The presentations were dedicated to reproduction rights as part of social and health protection and workers’ rights, but also abortion and its importance as a health issue as well as the issue related to democracy and the freedom of choice, as well as women’s sexual rights as part of the concept of female rights, then the right to sexual autonomy and the issue of whether sexual workers have the right to sexual autonomy. The project is financed by the East-East program of the Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonia.
