Macedonian Farmers’ Federation
An organization that unites over 102 farmers’ associations
The Macedonian Farmers’ Federation is a civil society organization that unites the work of farmers’ associations and their members for realizing both the individual and the common rights and interests in a modern and democratic way. The vision of its members is making the organized farmer an impetus for the country’s sustainable development, so their activities are focused on contributing to the development of a sustainable agriculture and quality of living.
“We help the farmers to solve their everyday problems by lobbying and advocating for their needs and interests; we support and realize activities requested by the farmers’ associations, we represent them, we inform and educate their members using the disposable resources of the Federation. Regarding the fact that Macedonian Farmers’ Federation is an organization that unites over 102 organizations from all over the country whose members need close cooperation, besides the main office in Skopje, we opened four regional centers in Bitola, Kocani, Strumica and Gostivar”, they say at the Federation.
The regional center in Bitola covers the south-west part of the country, more precisely, the municipalities of Bitola, Prilep, Resen, Ohrid, Demir Hisar, Makedonski Brod, Krusevo, Novaci, Krivogashtani, Mogila and Dolneni.
For better contact with the farmers, the Center moved into new premises in the center of the city. The new address is 28 Josif Josifovski. Contact at: 047 /225-635, or www.ffm.og.mk.
In order to realize the mission and the goals and to improve the condition and the living standard of the farmers, the Regional Center has had several meetings with the farmers and the institutions in the last period, among which are the meeting for solving the problem with the pastures and the lack of watering places on them; the meeting for solving the problem of the low purchase price of the tobacco; meetings with institutions; forums between the federation’s managing board and the associations for presenting the problems and finding possible solutions to them. Besides the activities for solving the current problems, the future activities are focused on organizing school for young leaders and training on counseling services.
