Ministry of Environment and REC

Inter-ministerial meeting on the Arhus Convention

On the initiative of the Ministry for Environment and Spatial Planning in cooperation with the Macedonian office of the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe with headquarters in Hungary, an inter- ministerial meeting was held at the end of January aimed at establishing an inter- ministerial group for implementation of the Arhus Convention in Macedonia.

This meeting was organized within the Program for reconstruction of the environment in South-Eastern Europe, that is, within the part for Support to developing strategies for the implementation of the Arhus Convention (convention for access to information, public participation and access to environmental justice). The project is going to be realized in a two years’ period in six countries encompassed in the REREP Program. The idea of the project is building capacities for the implementation of the Arhus Convention.
The inter-ministerial group for implementation of the Arhus Convention includes NGO representatives, too – Journalist-Legal Enviro Center ERINA and the Macedonian Ecologists’ Movement.
