Malovista – tradition that lasts
Old crafts bring profit again
Malovista is a true example how local inhabitants can use the authentic cultural and natural heritage with common efforts for their own local development. According to the vision of the Malovista inhabitants, the village’s development is directed to opening small businesses inspired by the local tradition and attracting tourists who will enjoy what the mountain and people offer.
Mentorship and civil organisations
Mentor possibilities in Macedonia are unused II
In the Republic of Macedonia the educational or academic mentorship is planned at faculties, but in practice it is accepted to be applied only while preparing the final thesis. Mentorship in the career development as a system is the most characteristic in the schools in the Republic of Macedonia. There it functions during working introduction of young teachers and officially finishes with passing the probationary exam.
Interview: Dragi Zmijanac, MA, Executive Director and Co-founder of the First Children’s Embassy in the world “Medjashi”
The civil sector got under my skin
The civil sector has the biggest legitimacy when the target group entrusts the mandate.
Dragi Zmijanac is the Executive Director and Co-founder of the First Children’s Embassy in the world “Medjashi”. Before he worked in the civil sector, he had obtained a Master’s degree in Defence and from 1983 to 1991 worked as a Theory of war assistant at the Institute of Defence at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje. He has been a part of the Children’s Embassy “Medjashi” since 1992.
Consider the transparency
A couple of days ago, a lady engaged by one of the international agencies working in Macedonia asked for some statistic data regarding the civic sector in Macedonia, such as: How many civic organizations are there in Macedonia? I gave her the information that the MCIC has, those that are part of the Address Book of Civic Organizations in Macedonia. Having seen the information she remained bewildered by the number our civic sector operates with. When we started gathering the data about the latest, seventh edition of the Address Book, we faced with more than 5000 civic organizations in the central register.
For the fourth time, MCIC presented the Awards for Civil Society and Democracy and the Award for Sustainable Development "Gert Jan van Appeldorn"
The awarded are inspiration for everyone
On 8 June 2004, for the fourth time, the MCIC presented the Award for Civil Society and Democracy and the Award for Sustainable Development "Gert Jan van Appeldorn". The certificates and the cheques were presented to the winners at the ceremony organized at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Skoje.

Weapons are designed to kill
According to the evaluations, 110-170 thousand of households in Macedonia own at least one piece of illegal weapon that leads to the number of about 500.000 pieces in the homes of our fellow citizens. And weapons are designed to kill. And they will certainly do it in a given moment!
