Four years of the Resolution 1325
In October 2005, the United Nations Security Council will mark the four years of the passing of the Resolution 1325. This number hides the dedication of this document – a Resolution on women, peace and security.
The resolution 1325 is the first document passed ever by the Security Council which particularly addresses the question of the direct influence of wars to women, as well as the women’s contribution in the conflict resolution and peacekeeping. The Resolution is widely accepted by the civil sector, mostly by the women associations, but also by many world governments.
The resolution’s text, as well as all the other additional information and documents, can be found at the United Nations web-site: www.un.org.
