Entrepreneurship and Family Business are Our Future

In order to stimulate the development of small business and entrepreneurship, beside the necessary previous knowledge and individual abilities that the entrepreneur has, there is a need of great support and help, both material and non-material. To illustrate this, I would like to refer to the beginnings of our family business. At the beginning we worked in adapted rooms in our family house with very few machines, we needed material support or credits for adding new technical equipment.
Our business-plan was supported by HO Moznosti, and also a credit was approved for supplying primary and circulating funds, and without this the business wouldn’t be at the level it is today. But a large number of entrepreneurs are not informed well enough where they can get a credit, under which conditions or how to work out their business-plan. This means that the entrepreneur should continually upgrade and educate in the areas of management, marketing, preparation of a business-plan etc. The seminars of this kind that were organized by the Association of Women Entrepreneurs ARNA helped me a lot to be better educated and informed about the possibilities for financing, preparing a good business-plan, but also for gaining knowledge about the importance of marketing. In more developed countries the help is more in the non-material part, i.e. different kinds of trainings in the area of management and marketing, which is understandable with regard to their level of development. On the other hand, in the countries in economic transition, as ours, newly formed small enterprises need a financial, but also other kind of expert help. The question is imposed whether the entrepreneurs are people naturally predetermined for their economic activities with their entrepreneurial spirit (talent, initiative, creativity, shrewdness, persistence, independence and acceptance of risk). Do they possess characteristics of good organizers, of creators of activities in applying the innovations and creativity of their spirit, or is it a result of the adequate surrounding, the current social-economic conditions? Not having new working places in a way conditions them to start being entrepreneurs. All the factors are important in creating a good entrepreneur. Good entrepreneurs are created only with a mutual correlation of the characteristics of one personality, the influence of the surroundings and the good upbringing and education, and these entrepreneurs, by opening their own family business, do not only solve their problem with employment, but also give a space for new employments. Solving the problem with employment through entrepreneurship and development of the sector for small and medium-sized enterprises should be the most important aim of the economic policy of the countries in transition. Small business provides easier and quicker employment compared to the big non-flexible enterprises, and the development of entrepreneurship creates a space for self-employments and new employments. Thus, entrepreneurship and small business have a key role in the economic reconstructing and from that aspect they have a very big importance in the process of economic transition of the Macedonian economy. Our country should create a good climate and ambience for development of entrepreneurship, and I would like to emphasize female entrepreneurship. Their wish for independence and self-approving, as well as the wish for decreasing the negative economic effects as a consequence of unemployment, and for providing security, shows that women entrepreneurs are an important and increasing segment of the small business. As in every other business, also in our, there are certain risks that we face and fight daily, but I would like to say that entrepreneurs are people, businessmen that are not still, they create and fight all the time, they introduce new quality, search for innovations and implementations of their ideas. The entrepreneur is not only a visionary, but also an implementer of his ideas. From what I have said so far, entrepreneurship and family business is our future that we should consider and support seriously.
