In a competition dedicated to Roma inclusion in the society
Recognition for successfully realized projects
The Roma Community Centre “DROM” from Kumanovo, with the project entitled “Decentralization and Roma Decade in it”, took part in the competition for the best project realizations for Roma inclusion, organized by the Council of Europe and it was second with results from realized projects in competition with several countries from Southeast Europe. The civil society organization Albanian Young Women Christian Association (YWCA of Albania) was first, and ALFA from Bosnia and Herzegovina was third. The project, which was carried out from March to December 2006, referred to preparation of action and operational plans on local level, to facilitate the process of Roma integration in the society on national and local level. The final action and operational plans on local level were adopted on 27 February and became part of the annual program of the municipality of Kumanovo, with an obligation to be additionally financed to take part in the realization of certain project activities that result from the action plans.
