Handbook on police

The Civil Society Informative Center has promoted the UN publication "International Standards on Human Rights for Implementation of the Law", which is a handbook on the Police. It is an adaptation of the UN High Commissary for Human Rights Office publication, in Macedonian and Albanian, intended mostly for the Republic of Macedonia Police. Its goal is to provide guidelines for the police, and is dedicated to human and legal performing of the vital functions in a democratic society. It contains important standards and procedures taken from more than 30 international sources.

The publication was prepared in cooperation between the Civil Society Informative Center and the UN High Commissary for Human Rights Office in the Republic of Macedonia. It will be distributed and available to everyone employed in this Ministry and to all relevant institutions, organizations and individuals, and parts of the publication will come up in the daily newspapers.
