In Lesok

The young people and the tradition
 

“The young people and the traditions from Lesok and the neighbouring villages” is the title of the project implemented by the association “Lesok”, located in Skopje and the local municipality of Lesok. Within the project, on 24 December 2005 the book “Lesok and the neighbouring villages (spiritual and material culture)” was promoted at the monastery complex “Saint Gavril Lesnovski”.

The project is supported by the Open Society Institute  - Macedonia Foundation as part of the “Living Heritage” programme. The goal of this project is to reduce the migration and bringing the young people of different ethnic origin closer by introducing them to the cultural heritage.

Part of the activities was the establishing of a Youth Recreational Centre, equipped with computers and other items. The Centre should be a place where the young people will socialize, create a cultural scheme and create a web-site of this region.
