Casting for Roma talents
The Roma Cultural Participation Project has announced an initiative for Casting of talents. The project is part of the Arts and Culture Network of the Open Society Institute (OSI) in New York and its goal is to carry out a research on the Roma culture and their social identity.
The Casting of Talents Initiative was raised in order to discover the unknown talented Roma individuals and the Roma artists who are talented but not promoted yet, as well as to increase the level of Roma art participation at international level. The project is seeking painters, carvers, weavers, metal workers, poets, writers, film workers, dancers, musicians and producers so that a database of the contemporary Roma artistic scene can be established.
The call is open for all individuals and organizations from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, The Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine. The casting will be carried out between 15 November 2006 and 31 May 2007.
